Job Description:

Responsible for developing new products and support existing products. Also responsible for characterization, yield enhancement, qualification and report generation for product development team and management. This position will require extensive experience and knowledge in setting up and using probers, manual probers, handlers, lab equipment such as oscilloscope, meters and ATE’s.   Will require close co-operation with design engineers, application engineers, marketing and test engineers to insure smooth development of new products.  This position requires extensive knowledge of C++ language, Microsoft Visual, Microsoft Office, Matlab, and Phyton to prepare reports.  Individual must be able to clearly articulate his/her ideas and manage a project. Some travel may be required.

Complex Tasks:

  1. Debug and validate new products.
  2. Characterize magnetic sensor products and prepare reports on findings
  3. Responsible for qualification of new products and manage the qualification process.
  4. Utilize Nextest Magnum/ASL/J750/Eagle Test Platform as well as other miscellaneous tools such as: Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Auto Wafer Prober, Manual Wafer Prober, and Handlers.

Management/Organizational Skills:

  1. Must be able to manage/drive complex technical issues with Design Team, Technology Team, tools/systems, and Applications Team
  2. Must have the organizational skills to consistently meet schedule requirements and commitments

Team and People Skills:

  1. Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams across geographical boundaries
  2. Able to clearly communicate functional needs to Program Management / Marketing, Design Engineering, and the Technology Team
  3. Understand specific roles within the team and maintain both personal focus and group vision

Projects and deliverables:

Deliverables for each project include but are not limited to:

  1. Validation and characterization plan
  2. Product qualification plans per JDEC specifications
  3. Hardware plan that encompasses probe card, load board, burn-in board and device qualification
  4. Deliver fully functional robust hardware for the items above

Basic Qualifications:

Circuit knowledge of various analog and digital blocks is a must.  In particular, experience with magnetic sensor and mixed signal devices.  Experience in planning and execution of complex projects to critical deadlines.  Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum BSEE, preferred MSEE with 5-10 years’ experience
  2. Hands-on experience for new product development
  3. Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices, circuits, and analog test techniques
  4. Data analysis skills
  5. Experienced with various lab equipment such as scopes, power supplies, signal generator, etc.
  6. Understand the IC product development process, from concept to volume production
  7. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions
  8. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  10. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  11. Ability to utilize knowledge of programming techniques, electronic test equipment, and test specifications to develop test program within an acceptable time frame
  12. In-depth understanding of test processes and equipment to reduce time spent performing engineering tasks
  13. Ability to effectively interface with other departments to obtain, verify, or provide information

The Applications/Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the testing, characterization and application electronics development of our TMR Magnetic Sensor Product Portfolio.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Involved with automation of lab measurements and developing of new test methods to characterize and benchmark TMR Magnetic Sensors.
  • Support the Test Team efforts by building, maintaining and upgrading the testbenches.
  • Generation of application circuits and demo boards with circuit design steps, component selection, circuit schematics, bill of materials, PCB layout, test procedures and reports.
  • Support Applications Team’s documentation efforts to enable customers to build and customize reference designs provided.
  • Ensure customer support by providing guidance for troubleshooting/analysis, competitive analysis, and solution generation, including FA support relative to applications and systems issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need for this Position

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Engineering degree Bac + 5 (Grandes Écoles or University) with a specialization in electronics.
  • 2-5years experience in the Electronics Industry in an Applications or Electronics Design role.
  • Demonstrated related experience in the areas of sensors, integrated circuits, PCB design with good hardware debugging skills is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in programming microcontrollers (STM32/MSP430/PICs) to enable rapid prototyping of sensors.
  • Programming languages required: Python and C / C ++.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization and cross functional teams both written and orally.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge in power electronics and magnetic simulation is a plus.
  • Experience with analog and mixed signal testing for multiple industrial and consumer applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within Crocus Technology team in Grenoble (France) to optimize, improve and control fabrication processes for magneto-electronic sensor and memory products.
  • Interact with foundry partners to drive process and integration improvements and collect relevant process related data.
  • Interact with internal magnetics, test, device characterization and product teams to understand process, integration and yield requirements for product.
  • Build statistical models relating process parameters to product yield and use these to drive yield enhancement.
  • Provide regular yield reports to management and propose action plans.
  • Contribute to Crocus Technology intellectual property via invention disclosures and publications.

Qualifications:

  • Engineer/PhD with background in statistical process control/analysis.
  • Understanding of semiconductor integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in statistical data analysis and databases.
  • Industrial experience or experience of collaborating with industry partners is preferred.
  • Significant analytical skills in statistical data analysis and computation tools (JMP, MATLAB and Python).
  • Effective written and oral communications skills with a high degree of fluency in English. Fluency in French is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient, flexible and effective manner in a diverse team environments.

What You Need for this Position

Required Skills/Experience:

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline with minimum 5-7 years of experience in the Electronics Industry in an Applications or Electronics Design role.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of sensors, preferably magnetic sensor, readout circuitry is a plus
  • Demonstrated related experience in the areas of sensors, integrated circuit, PCB design with good hardware debugging skills is mandatory
  • Experience in measurement automation (LabView, VEE, Python) as well proficiency in programming microcontrollers (STM32/MSP430/PICs) to enable rapid prototyping of sensors.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization and cross functional teams both written and orally.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to do basic GUI development in Windows as needed to support demonstration boards.
  • Experience with analog, mixed signal testing for multiple industrial and consumer applications
