The Applications/Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the testing, characterization and application electronics development of our TMR Magnetic Sensor Product Portfolio.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Involved with automation of lab measurements and developing of new test methods to characterize and benchmark TMR Magnetic Sensors.
  • Support the Test Team efforts by building, maintaining and upgrading the testbenches.
  • Generation of application circuits and demo boards with circuit design steps, component selection, circuit schematics, bill of materials, PCB layout, test procedures and reports.
  • Support Applications Team’s documentation efforts to enable customers to build and customize reference designs provided.
  • Ensure customer support by providing guidance for troubleshooting/analysis, competitive analysis, and solution generation, including FA support relative to applications and systems issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need for this Position

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Engineering degree Bac + 5 (Grandes Écoles or University) with a specialization in electronics.
  • 2-5years experience in the Electronics Industry in an Applications or Electronics Design role.
  • Demonstrated related experience in the areas of sensors, integrated circuits, PCB design with good hardware debugging skills is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in programming microcontrollers (STM32/MSP430/PICs) to enable rapid prototyping of sensors.
  • Programming languages required: Python and C / C ++.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization and cross functional teams both written and orally.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge in power electronics and magnetic simulation is a plus.
  • Experience with analog and mixed signal testing for multiple industrial and consumer applications.

  • Work within Crocus Technology team in Grenoble (France) to optimize, improve and control fabrication processes for magneto-electronic sensor and memory products.
  • Interact with foundry partners to drive process and integration improvements and collect relevant process related data.
  • Interact with internal magnetics, test, device characterization and product teams to understand process, integration and yield requirements for product.
  • Build statistical models relating process parameters to product yield and use these to drive yield enhancement.
  • Provide regular yield reports to management and propose action plans.
  • Contribute to Crocus Technology intellectual property via invention disclosures and publications.

Qualifications:

  • Engineer/PhD with background in statistical process control/analysis.
  • Understanding of semiconductor integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in statistical data analysis and databases.
  • Industrial experience or experience of collaborating with industry partners is preferred.
  • Significant analytical skills in statistical data analysis and computation tools (JMP, MATLAB and Python).
  • Effective written and oral communications skills with a high degree of fluency in English. Fluency in French is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient, flexible and effective manner in a diverse team environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within Crocus Technology team in Grenoble (France), in close collaboration with teams in the US and China, to verify design, provide test solutions and run advanced characterization on our different types of products (sensors and memory).
  • Testing products to full specification as well as design verification.
  • Work on all aspects of semiconductor ASIC device verification and validation.
  • Develop test solutions to meet any/all qualification requirements.
  • Gather and analyze test data to improve, simplify, and optimize test solutions.
  • Develop and present Test Plan and ATE and report to a cross functional team.

Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Basic Analog Circuits i.e. Device Physics, OpAmps, ADCs, DACs and Regulators.
  • Fundamental technical skills in evaluating/debugging Digital Circuits.
  • The ability to organize and present your project and goals in a concise manner.
  • Knowledge in C++ programming languages a plus.
  • Working experience using basic lab equipment i.e. Oscilloscope, DMM, Power Supply.
  • Knowledge of ATE test platforms such as the Teradyne Magnum.
  • Industrial experience or experience of collaborating with industry partners is preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills with a high degree of fluency in English. Fluency in French is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to work in an efficient, flexible and effective manner, both independently and in a diverse team environment.

What You Need for this Position

Required Skills/Experience:

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline with minimum 5-7 years of experience in the Electronics Industry in an Applications or Electronics Design role.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of sensors, preferably magnetic sensor, readout circuitry is a plus
  • Demonstrated related experience in the areas of sensors, integrated circuit, PCB design with good hardware debugging skills is mandatory
  • Experience in measurement automation (LabView, VEE, Python) as well proficiency in programming microcontrollers (STM32/MSP430/PICs) to enable rapid prototyping of sensors.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization and cross functional teams both written and orally.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to do basic GUI development in Windows as needed to support demonstration boards.
  • Experience with analog, mixed signal testing for multiple industrial and consumer applications

  • Significant experience in the design and modeling of electronic, spintronic, magnetic sensor and MRAM structures, devices and technologies.
  • Significant expertise in macrospin, micromagnetic, and finite element modeling applied to nanoscale and micrometer scale magnetic multilayer structures, devices, and circuits.
  • Industrial experience or experience of collaborating with industry partners is preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills with a high degree of fluency in English. Fluency in French is desirable but not required.
  • Significant skills in statistical data analysis tools, computation and modeling tools applied to magnetics and electronic technologies.
  • Ability to work in an efficient, flexible and effective manner, both independently and in a diverse team environment.
