Hall-effect sensors have also been used in smart lock systems for tamper detection and position sensing of doors and windows. Yet Hall-effect sensors routinely struggle with high power consumption output, temperature drift and sensitivity.

Also a Smart Lock can incorporate a CT81xx series switch to signal an “open” or “closed” door or window condition by aligning the switch and magnet to the strike of the door (sensor output will signal low for a closed door or high for an open door).
Stable Magnetic Performance over Temperature also eliminates the need for additional overhead to compensate for variation which saves design time and cost, while their small form factor means they occupy only 2.10 mm2 of PCB area – ideal for use in portable devices and window and door sensors.
